I can’t look at a glade of bluebells without smiling. They’re just beautiful. I also love wood anemones and when they bloom together, it’s just magical. With this piece I wanted to recreate the jewels of blue flowers against the darkness of the woods. I really love the way they appear differently in changing light so I will definitely create more bluebell plaques, to create different atmospheres.

Full description
This original floral art is created in mosaic. The woodland scene, feature bluebells and wood anemones in matt muted tones. The background is created with speckled blue and cream tiles to evoke the blue haze of flowers and the grout is gunmetal grey to add drama.
I use beautiful Winckelmans tiles which are matt ceramic and come in soft muted tones. I hand cut each piece of tessera to create intricate images inspired by nature. The mosaic is mounted on a wooden canvas and the sides are part tiled to frame the plaque and give depth and is complete with hanging wire.
Measures 22cm x 16cm x 2cm
Due to the wooden frame, this art is suitable for display indoors only.
Each wall plaque is one of a kind, but I am able to make more in a similar colour palette on request. I am also open to commissions, just contact me for a chat.
