Family recipies handed down the generations. Welsh Cakes are sweet almost scone-like cakes cooked flat on a griddle, traditionally studded with raisins but I prefer mine plain. Bara Brith is a rich fruit cake, where the fruit is soaked overnight in liquid tea (no milk!) before mixing with the other cake ingredients.
Plus the Welsh flag colours of course....

Full description
Inspired by the soft warm brown tones of Welsh cakes and Bara Brith, this gorgeous fabric and trim craft bundle evokes memories of a good old fashioned Welsh High Tea. In a muted palette and with prints and textiles reminiscent of a Victorian parlour, the creams and browns are offset by the red, green and white colours of the Welsh flag.
Stuffed to the brim, the A4 cardboard storage box has over 40 pieces, each carefully selected for textural and visual interest. Perfect for your next slow stitching or textile art project - or a special St Davids Day gift.

Some are antique/vintage/retro, either from my own collection, or sourced from local vintage shops and individual sellers. Others are surplus/offcuts from my patchwork quilting or costume making, or salvaged from pre-loved clothes or furnishings. Due to their age, some pieces may have small marks or tears - all part of their rich history.
