Hi and welcome to The Old Button Sews, where I sell beautiful gifts designed and sewn by me, together with a range of sew-it-yourself craft kits.
Most items are dispatched within 2 working days, and I post Tracked 24 at a flat cost no matter how many items you buy.
My collection started as a child with an old button box and some vintage embroidery threads given to me by my late grandmother. Over the years I have collected many vintage and retro items (note I only cut into pieces that are too damaged or marked to be used in their original form) as well as a whole sewing room full of bits and pieces.
I decided I would use some of this collection to create curated boxes for the newly re-discovered art of slow stitching. Get yourself a cup of tea, and relax with a needle and thread.

Full description
A wedding-inspired slow stitching kit, including silks and lace from family weddings down the generations. Ideal for mindfulness and relaxation, or as an inspirational textile pack to sew a special gift to celebrate a wedding, anniversary or Valentine's Day.
Available as a starter or standard box - both include the same textiles; they just differ in size. Most photos show pieces from the larger box.
Your box will include a piece of calico fabric for a foundation to sew into, needles and pins, and my introduction to slow stitching leaflet and stitching guide (you can swap this for an emailed copy plus extra textiles - see options).
The starting point for this collection is the cerise pink silk and a gauzy cream bridal lace - with accents of peach, green and gold picked up from the floral prints. I've chosen several vintage, antique and salvaged items from my collection to add a rich variety of textures and patterns, in a gorgeous palette to cool that hot pink down.
