Ideal for nature lovers is this statement necklace created from fabric and plywood.
This lovely cotton fabric by a UK based fabric designer, features illustrations of a pair of bees facing each other surrounded by red clover, lavender and honeysuckle on a soft peach background.
Here I’ve used a specialist fabric decoupage glue medium, that adheres the fabric to the 8cm wide semi-circle shaped plywood (FSC approved) and seals the fabric – giving it a water resistant finish.
I've left the back of the necklace showing the natural colour and grain of the wood, but simply adding a layer of varnish.
The necklace is finished with a 22 inch antique bronze plated chain, with a 12mm lobster clasp. Length can be adjusted by up to 2 inches, using the chain links.
This bee necklace measures 8cm wide by 4cm high (approx.4mm thick) and will come carefully packaged in an eco-friendly recycled kraft card jewellery box with branded logo and padded insert, ready to gift.
It’s a great gift idea for a bee keeper, nature lover or someone who loves bees!
