Eggplants
This modern botanical watercolour celebrates the elegant form of long eggplants, painted with careful attention to colour, line, and movement. I was drawn to the natural curves of the fruit and the way they hang from the vine, so I used layered, translucent washes to bring out the deep violet and indigo tones, contrasted with fresh greens and cool blue leaves. A single pale purple flower crowns the composition, adding a delicate focal point and a quiet sense of growth and balance.
The style is clean yet expressive, allowing the white space to let the shapes breathe. It’s a piece that feels both contemporary and timeless—perfect for a kitchen or dining space, and a thoughtful, distinctive gift for any occasion.
The painting measures 8 x 8 inches and is presented in a simple square white frame, with a total framed size of 12.5 x 12.5 inches. My signature appears on the front, and each artwork is issued with a Certificate of Authenticity.
