Amethyst (purple quartz) is the birthstone for Aquarius and February, and the stone for the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethyst is believed to ease stress, promote tranquility, emotional balance and inner strength.
Amethyst is also associated with St Valentine.
It was believed he wore an amethyst ring engraved with a cupid to enable young soldiers to recognise him.
Emperor Claudius 11, believing married men made bad soldiers, had forbidden soldiers to wed, but Valentine would conduct secret marriage ceremonies.

Full description
A mix of 6mm Amethyst and 6mm Mother-of-Pearl beads, separated by sparkling Swarovski 'light amethyst' crystals which catch the light beautifully, with a central oval Amethyst stone set between trios of Swarovski crystals.
The crystals are highlighted with tine 2mm gold vermeil spacers which add warmth and shine.
The mother of pearl has a lovely ivory- cream colour with white patches, and a subtle shimmer that adds to the luxuriant feel of this piece.
The necklace then graduates to 5mm creamy shell beads. and fastens with a gold Tibetan rose toggle clasp.
This gorgeous necklace measures approximately 17 inches (43cm).
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
