I am happy to wrap and send gifts direct to recipients with a note - just specify their delivery address when you check out (I use either special delivery or track 24 so you can follow it round the country to the recipient). Full description
hese sterling silver cufflinks feature rounds of multi coloured fordite from the Kenworth truck factory. The fordite is bezel set in sterling silver and the cufflinks finished with standard sterling silver swivel backs for ease of use. The fordite aren't a perfectly matched pair but were cut from the same bit of rough so the colour palette is the same, there is black, red, deep green, sparkly copper, emerald and blue. One of the pieces of fordite has a splodge of white with red and blue streaks which reminds me of a UFO, this also has an indentation from a dribble in the original rough. The cufflinks measure approx 19mm across with standard swivel backs.
Fordite is many layers of cured paint that builds up in the spray booths at automotive factories, this particular material came from the Kenworth plant in Chillicothe, Ohio. Since they make trucks these would make a great gift for anyone who loves trucks, is involved in shipping logistics or just loves the unusual. My partner has been vigorously desk testing his fordite cufflinks for years and has yet to scratch them (they have even been through the wash but this isn't recommended). Like fordite but want something different?
