I like a challenge !
The pattern and some fabric came through Juberry fabrics here in the U.K. from the American designer Laura Heine and it was a good reason to use my Scan n Cut machine.
The cost of the laser-cut pieces, pattern and the rest of the fabrics required (not wadding)
available from fireworks-Heine.com is $423 (£333) although they don’t appear to ship to the U.K. anyway.
This quilt could also be used as a wall-hanging with the appropriate clips and a large wall.
Machine washable at 30 degrees, it’s suggested to not use fabric softener, dry flat, coolish iron or tumble to finish drying.

Full description
A beautiful quilt for a bright and beautiful bedroom or over a settee in a lounge or a ‘snug’
With large stylised flowers, medium butterflies and lots of mini hearts, this quilt would adorn anyone’s room and give warmth and comfort.
It’s a Collage Quilt with all the pieces of fabric that make up the flowers, leaves, butterflies and hearts, cut out and stitched down onto the background. (Appliquéd)
I got the pattern and fabrics through Juberry Fabrics here in the U.K. from an American designer Laura Heine who teaches this Collage style quilting and designs the fabrics.
I knew there was a lot of preparation as I was making this quilt as a challenge and a project worth doing so I used my scan n cut, very successfully as it turned out, to cut out the fabric shapes. I haven’t counted how many in all but there was a Lot !
Machine-stitching round each of these shapes took a lot of time and patience, then there was the sashing and the joining of the blocks, then the rows, then the layering of the backing, the wadding and the top, until it was finally ready for quilting with variegated thread in lots of straight lines, which is the look of a Laura Heine’s quilt.
I can only use so many quilts and have decided to sell this one at a very reasonable price in relation to the cost if you were to buy the pattern and cut-out pieces of fabric yourself from Laura’s site as the background fabric, sashing, wadding and backing fabric aren’t included in her price. Food for thought? Jan
