Hi, I’m Jan and I can’t stop making things.
I’ve knitted, sewn and crocheted from a very young age, taught by my Mum, Aunty and Nan.
When I was 3 — Knitting . ‘In, over, through, off.’
4 — Hand sewing. Buttons on anything I could find.
5 1/2 — Knitting on four needles. Dolls’ socks.
6 — Machine sewing. Mum’s Jones treadle machine.
8 — Crochet and Embroidery. I’ve still got doilies and a tablecloth with lots of embroidered daisies
Machine Knitting, Quilting, Tailoring, Dress-making and Bobbin Lace came after, at night-classes.
I had a hand and machine knitting shop in Liverpool in the 1980’s when machine knitting gave local women a cottage industry, knitting school jumpers and cardigans —— before mass production !
Those were the days, it was like Christmas when a delivery of yarn arrived.
For the last 26 years I’ve worked part-time in the Dollshouse Shop and Doll and Teddy Hospital in Liverpool, making miniatures and repairing all manner of dolls, teds and soft toys ( some of them only scraps )
I have a lovely ( a bit untidy - but I know where everything is ) Workroom but am running out of space for my stock.
So now I offer for sale - a selection of Soft toys and Animals - some as kits.
Christmas decorations - mainly one off’s.
Christmas gifts.
Quilts and fabrics.
Crocheted blankets - baby and adult.
Collectors dolls and clothes
Collectors Mohair bears - some as kits.
Miniature knitting and patterns for dollhouse people.

I don’t normally sew things but I was able to fill it with my special photos together with some stuffing, and sew it all up in about 3 hours. Great idea

The scarf is lovely it has been crafted with care and skill. It was packaged beautifully and arrived in good time. I like it so much that I have purchased the pattern and will make some more to give to friends.
