Full description
This decorative orb ornament features sheep in the fields with trees. It has been made from woollen fibres. The sphere has been felted using woollen fibres and then a layer of merino wool fibres in blue and green has been added to create the background colour. The sheep and trees have been added and then the sphere felted for a second time. This ensures all the woollen fibres adhere and are well felted. Finally a few birds have been added using black thread. The sheep and trees have been added all around the sphere to provide decoration in all orientations.
The orb measures approximately 8cm in diameter and a repurposed wooden curtain ring used as a base to enable it to maintain stability when on display. Should you wish to use the orb as a hanging decoration a hanging loop can easily be stitched to the top.
As well as being a decorative item, this orb could also be used as a pin cushion.
Sheep are often associated with community, innocence, peace and gentleness.
A pretty ornamental piece of art.
