I've been fascinated by the intersection of textile crafts and mathematics for many years and hacking my knitting machine has given me the ideal way to express the beauty of the patterns that arise in this area. This piece uses the four stages of the glider formed in Conway's Game of Life to create a simple but striking fabric.

Full description
A handy little pouch in the Glider Grid pattern from Knot Unknot's latest collection. It has a sturdy zip and lining and is ideal for carrying cash, bank cards,small tools or knitting and sewing essentials. The outer fabric is pure undyed wool from Jamieson and Smith in Shetland.The lining is black polyester cotton and the zip is black with gold coloured metal. The dimesions are approximately 16cm by 18.5cm by 7cm.
I knit the outer fabric in my studio in Edinburgh and the bags are constructed for me by a local social enterprise.
