The wonderful embossed decoration of this old paraffin lamp, which came to me without any glass parts, cried out for sympathetic conversion to electrical power, retaining its looks and proportions as far as possible. I think it has turned out very well, what do you think?

Full description
A vintage, possibly antique, brass duplex paraffin lamp with decorative embossed patterns on the tank and stand, brought into the 21st century with a good polish, an electrical conversion and a 2.5-watt energy saving decorative LED globe bulb.
The lamp has a new brass ES lampholder securely fitted where the wicks once were and wiring run through the tank, stand and Frech polished wooden base that I made from a piece of scaffold board. The globe bulb is fluted and throws lovely shadows onto nearby walls. Placed on a shelf, desk or table this lamp will add a vintage steampunk element to almost any room.
My lamp is supplied with a generous 6 feet/1.8 metres of new, period look, pecan braided flex fitted with a black inline switch and black British Standard plug with correct 3-amp fuse.
