I wanted to create an illustration celebrating seven species of coastal bird found locally along the North Northumberland coast, including a Cormorant, Brent Geese, Arctic Terns, a Purple sandpiper, an Eider duck, an Oystercatcher and Puffins. Each illustration was hand-painted in watercolour with pen detailing and then labels were handwritten in a loose, calligraphic style. The hand-drawn map cartouche features two of the places these birds can be seen - the Farne Islands and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Part of my Coastal Birds of North Northumberland collection - 25% of the profit from sales of items in this collection will be donated to the National Trust to support their work looking after the Northumberland coast.

This print features detailed watercolour and pen illustrations of a number of coastal birds found in the North Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), including: Arctic Terns, Brent Geese, Cormorants, Eider Duck, Oystercatcher, Purple Sandpiper and Puffins. Each illustration has a hand-written name label in a loose, calligraphic style.
Printed in the UK onto eco-friendly, high-quality eucalyptus paper, it's a perfect gift for nature lovers and those looking to bring a coastal element into their homes.
