Full description
This, almost anthropomorphised owl, is named after Stolas. He was the owl demon with long legs originating from; The Discoverie of Witchcraft, The Book of Spirits, Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, The Lesser Key of Solomon, and Dictionnaire Infernal.
He is made with various recycled and reworked textile materials. I also used scraps of recycled embroidery thread either from old embroidery practice or leftovers from old projects. I never like to waste anything.
The vintage buttons attached to the body used to belong to my Grandma. They match the brown painted felt on top of his head. I sculpted his eyes and beak out of polymer clay and painted them a deep yellow ochre and reddish brown.
All parts of his body are hand-stitched by me. I used recycled polyester stuffing for his limbs, head, body and ears.
He is 57 cm in length when laid flat. (From tips of ears to bottom of legs.)
