Full description
This is my mystical mermaid of the sea sculpture wall plaque.
Handmade with earth-stone sculpture clay using the slab method with lots of curly coiling. She has been bisque fired to1000c and then gently sanded before applying a red iron-oxide wash to her face, curls, and the starfish. The excess iron-oxide has been removed using a wet sponge to give a rustic effect. Two coats of yellow glaze have been applied to the sea anemones with a bright red glaze added to her luscious lips. She has been finally fired to stoneware temperature of 1260c.
The plaque has a metal ring attached to the back and self-adhesive cork protectors have been added ready for you to hang on your chosen wall.
