Full description

This soft green has been created using weld, and muted with iron. Weld is considered one of the ‘classical’ dyes, it has been used by dyers for centuries and is the oldest documented yellow dye. It is grown in the Muddy House garden and each year freely self-seeds in the grave courtyard.

Fine Cotton is an unbleached strong, soft matt cotton. It’s highly absorbent making it suitable for items such as tea-towels and placemats. Also suitable for knitting by hand or on a standard gauge knitting machine or crocheting to 4 ply patterns.

Suitable for: crochet, knitting, weaving, tapestry weaving, embroidery

– Please note this yarn was dyed in an exhaust bath so the colour is unique and non-repeatable

Care Instructions

Fibres dyed with natural dyes should be washed in a pH neutral detergent. Bright sunlight should be avoided and if washing your products are dried outside, make sure that they are in the shade.

Our dyed yarn and fabric have been prepared carefully, going through many steps and finally having a thorough final rinse. However, there may be some excess dye residue when washed. Washing by hand will prolong the life of the colour but if you would like to machine wash please use a delicate, cool wash and rinse.
