Full description
A slightly muddy, yellow-beige yarn, dyed with gallnut. Alone, oak galls make a light beige colour and lighten slightly when followed by an alum mordant.
This is a very versatile, soft and lustrous yarn that can be used in weaving as the warp and weft. It is a 3 ply yarn that can be easily separated into individual strands for embroidery.
Care Instructions
Fibres dyed with natural dyes should be washed in a pH neutral detergent. Bright sunlight should be avoided and if washing your products are dried outside, make sure that they are in the shade.
Our dyed yarn and fabric have been prepared carefully, going through many steps and finally having a thorough final rinse. However, there may be some excess dye residue when washed. Washing by hand will prolong the life of the colour but if you would like to machine wash please use a delicate, cool wash and rinse.
