I've been fascinated by the intersection of textile crafts and mathematics for many years and hacking my knitting machine has given me the ideal way to express the beauty of the patterns that arise in this area. This piece uses the four stages of the glider formed in Conway's Game of Life to create a simple but striking fabric.

Full description
A handy purse in the Glider Grid pattern from Knot Unknot's latest collection. It has a sturdy zip and lining and is ideal for carrying cash, bank cards,small tools or knitting and sewing essentials. The outer fabric is pure wool grown and spun in Shetland. The lining is black polyester cotton and the zip is black with gold coloured metal. The dimesions are approximately 11cm by 15cm.
I knit the outer fabric in my studio in Edinburgh and the purses are constructed for me by a local social enterprise.
