Russian doll tote bag. I made this unique tote bag specifically to provide the image for my new business logo. The bag is made from navy blue upholstery fabric and has an appliqué Russian doll, also known as a Matryoshka doll. The doll's clothes are made from two pretty co-ordinating fabrics. Her skirt is mauve with tiny purple and white flowers, and her shawl is pale blue with purple and lilac roses. I've trimmed her shawl with a bow, which I've hand-made from pale blue satin ribbon with tiny white polka dots. Her face is made from pale peach felt, and she has russet brown felt hair. She has black sequin eyes, to which I've added hand-embroidered eyelashes. I've also lovingly hand-embroidered her rosy cheeks and rosebud smile. She has a wooden purple flower button in her hair. The bag is lined with lilac satin fabric with a woven pattern of small diamonds.
This tote bag is unique and special, as it bears the original image that I created to use in my new business logo. The bag, with its delightful Russian doll, her pretty clothes and lovingly hand-embroidered face, would make a lovely unique gift.
The approximate measurements of the tote bag are:
14 inches (36cm) high x 12.5 inches (32cm) wide x 3 inches (8cm) across the base. The handles are approx. 24 inches (60cm) from end to end, and are of a length that can be worn on the shoulder or carried as a handbag.
