Full description
This seagull model has been made using a core of white wool sculpted into shape using a barbed felting needle and then covered in appropriately coloured merino wool fibres to create the markings. A beak made from hand coloured silk clay has been added. The wings have been cut from flat felt sheets, covered in merino wool fibres and needle felted into place. The legs of the seagull are formed from wooden dowels wrapped in woollen fibres which gives the model strength and stability. The seagull has been mounted on a small rustic wooden slice to aid stability.
This seagull measures approximately 24cm (9.5") from beak to tail, and the whole ornament stands approximately 18cm (7") tall.
Whilst this seagull model is fairly robust, he will not withstand constant handling or rough treatment and is not suitable as a toy.
