This is a striking scarf that has been made using soft, natural white (unbleached) merino wool fibres with a border of bright rainbow colours which has a pretty ruffled edge.
The central white band has been nuno felted onto both sides of a piece of silk chiffon, a process whereby the fine layers of woollen fibres bind to the silk allowing the scarf to remain lightweight whilst the silk chiffon gives strength to the resulting fabric. The border, made using of a rainbow blend of merino wool fibres has been added around the edge with a ruffled effect created by the arrangement of the fibres and their manipulation during the felting process.
The resulting scarf Is lightweight, soft and warm and measures approximately 156cm (61.5") x 31cm (12"), long enough to tie in a knot or wrap around the neck for extra warmth if required.
A lovely gift for mothers day or any other occasion.
The scarf will be shipped wrapped in tissue paper with a card explaining the felting process and washing instructions.
Handwash only in warm water. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
