Moss Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family.
It is generally included in the Agate family despite not being banded.
Moss agate is a beautiful sage-green stone, translucent or milky, with inclusions of iron or manganese, that look like tendrils of lichen or moss, giving the green colour and the name.
The traditional May/Taurus alternative birthstone to Emerald is Agate - particularly Moss Agate with its emerald green hues and association with spring, and Earth, the ruling element for Taurus

With its strange green swirls that resemble trapped tendrils of moss, it is no wonder that Moss Agate has become closely associated with Earth and Mother Nature.
The 8mm, 6mm and 4mm polished round beads show a mix of all the attributes of Moss Agate, semi-translucent to semi-opaque, marbled appearance ranging in hue from light sage to deep forest green, and varying degrees of dendritic inclusions.
No two stones are the same.
Swarovski 'erinite' crystals and tiny gold vermeil beads add a glint of green sparkle and golden shine.
Moss Agate is believed to enhance tranquility and emotional balance.
These drop earrings measures approximately 1.35 inches (3cm).
