This was an idea I saw in a vintage sewing magazine and I thought "that's handy, I wonder if I could make one?". My sister saw it and wanted one too, couple of weeks later I've got completely carried away and made lots!

Based on a vintage style wooden cotton reel this stand is perfect for embroidery and small scissors. Stops your scissors getting lost without taking up too much workspace!
This particular reel has a decoupage decoration but you can choose from painted, unpainted, a ribbon decoration, decoupaged or transfer in my other listings. The reel has been varnished to withstand knocks and has felt on the bottom to help protect your work surface.
