I live in North Wales and from a view point not far away, I can see right across the Clwyd Hills towards Snowdonia. On a clear day I can see the mountains in the distance. I was sketching one day, up on the hill in the sunshine, but the weather can change here in an instant! The sky turned slate blue & the light intense, turning the fields bright lime green. The rain was coming down over the distant hills so it was time for a quick dash back to the car and finish the sketches back in the studio.

Full description

Across a rolling line of hills a storm is brewing. The sky is slate blue and in the far distance the rain is starting to fall. The strong light picks the fields out in bright green and the shadows are dark green and blue. In the foreground is an undulating field, striped following haymaking. The colours are fresh and clean as it is the end of May.

The image is semi-abstract in design, composed of flowing lines and curves which distil the essence of the landscape.

Image size 37cm x 18cm. Edition of 8, 1 available.

Supplied unframed and packed flat for shipping.

Designed by Jenny Ford in Holywell
