"My Standing Akita statue was a commission of Rocco, who in his prime was a big, beautiful boy and a wonderful family dog. He was wonderful with the children and the other dogs in the household. While quite elderly when I met him, his family shared great memories of him with me, which I drew on to create his commission."

Tanya Russell is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and her sculptures are hand cast by a British foundry. Her Standing Akita ornament will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This casting is a perfect recreation of the original bronze statue and bears the artists signature and its own unique edition number.

How its made: Foundry Bronze refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust than bronze resin and will appreciate in value.
