“The Leaping Salmon was commissioned by a lady as a surprise gift for her husband who is an avid angler. I am actually a huge fan of salmon and have watched them in Scotland undertaking their amazing upstream journey to their ancestral spawning grounds. These marvellous animals show such energy and determination during their migration, and I wanted my sculpture to capture that energy of the salmon fighting the currents of the river as it swims up rapids and small waterfalls.”

This casting is a perfect recreation of the original bronze statue and bears the artists signature and its own unique edition number.

How its made: Foundry Bronze refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust than bronze resin and will appreciate in value.
