“This dog statue was a portrait of a gorgeous girl called Lyra. She had been rescued by her family from Battersea Dogs and Cats home. She obviously had a pretty tough start in life, but definitely ended up living the dream!
I have hardly ever seen such a contented dog who was so loved and had so much love to give. I really enjoyed making this sculpture as she was a proper mixed breed and because my own beloved dog came from Battersea also. It just makes it extra special when you know they have been rescued and are one of the lucky ones.”
