“I love watching our pigs lying in the sun and just being totally content and happy with life. We have a number of pigs free roaming around the farm and though they have a clear hierarchy that helps with their social interactions, they are very good natured and very sweet with each other and the other animals on the farm. I just wanted to sculpt a happy, content pig as part of the family of pigs with the sitting pig and little piglet.”

Tanya Russell is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and her sculptures are hand cast by a British foundry. Her Sleeping Pig ornament will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This casting is a perfect recreation of the original bronze statue and bears the artists signature and its own unique edition number.

How its made: Foundry Bronze refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust than bronze resin and will appreciate in value.
