“This labrador sculpture was modelled on Jake, who lives on a beautiful farm but was a little sad when I met him. He’d recently lost his companion dog and his family was understandably still quite upset.
Jake was a cuddly dog who loved to sit between his owner’s legs looking up at them and asking for strokes. Originally he was going to be a portrait, but having seen how sculptural he was when he held that pose. We all decided that was how he needed to be sculpted.”
