"The Resting Horse sculpture was created in 2016 for my second Chelsea Flower Show. I haven’t modelled a horse for some time. My mother Lorne McKean is one of the premier polo sculptors in the UK, so I feel I have a lot to live up to. But I did enjoy doing the Resting Horse sculpture. I’ve always loved horses and I think they’re one of the most beautiful creatures.
They’re kind, and it’s difficult to find an animal that has given so much in the service of people. I tried to capture their gentle happiness in their natural state in this sculpture."

Tanya Russell is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and her sculptures are hand cast by a British foundry. Her Resting Horse ornament will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This casting is a perfect recreation of the original bronze statue and bears the artist's signature and its own unique edition number.

How its made: Foundry Bronze refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust than bronze resin and will appreciate in value.
