"The Sitting Cat sculpture was commissioned of Dan Dan, and joins his companion Jack, my standing cat sculpture. I feel very honoured to have been asked to sculpt Dan Dan after that first commission, and I worked to represent him in a quiet but expressive pose. In some ways, cats are very challenging to sculpt. Their musculature is often hidden by their slinky fur, and choosing an ‘at rest’ pose that gave Dan Dan definition, interest and elegance in the wax certainly tested me!"

Tanya Russell is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and her sculptures are hand cast by a British foundry. Her Foundry Bronze Sitting Cat statue will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and cleaning kit. This casting is a perfect recreation of the original bronze statue and bears the artists signature and its own unique edition number.
Your large bronze cat sculpture will be packaged with care and include our premium, embossed Tanya Russell certificate box and cleaning kit. The perfect collectible for garden art and animal fans, the Sitting Cat figure will be shipped to you double wrapped for extra protection. We ensure that all our packaging is recycled or recyclable wherever possible and carbon-offset with tree planting.
How its made: Foundry Bronze refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust than Bronze Resin and will appreciate in value.
