This online shop will be closing on January 4th 2026. Polarstar Pottery is alive and well and will be continuing to sell through local events in the Herts / Beds area. A big thank you to my online Customers, and also thanks to Folksy for making it possible.
I've been making fish for a while, and I was getting lots of questions and comments at markets: Can you put something in them? What are they for ? What about a Salt Pig ? But can be used for other types of storage too !

These fish are thrown on the wheel and shaped into a startled fishy shape while they are still wet. Due to the making process, every one is unique, with its own expression and personality.
I usually promote these as 'salt fish' unfortunately this one has a crack and some glaze runs inside, so is not suitable for the kitchen - but could still be used for other types of storage e.g. sweets, cotton wool
