Aquamarine, named from the Latin for seawater, is the pale blue-to-blue-green member of the beryl family.
In folklore it is linked to the sea, and sacred to the sea-god Neptune.
It was believed to calm the waves and bring protection and good luck to sailors and fishermen.
Aquamarine represented not only the sea, but also the heavens since the sky reflected in the water. It was believed that this reflective property could reveal hidden aspects of reality and things deep within our souls. This made aquamarine a popular stone with healers, shamans and mystics.
Aquamarine is the birthstone for March and Pisces, and the stone for the 19th wedding anniversary.

Full description
Super sparkly blue earrings, each featuring a 9x6mm Swarovski crystal teardrop and 4mm bicone in the colour 'aquamarine', separated by two micro-faceted, AA grade genuine Aquamarine beads and 2mm gold vermeil spacers.
The beads are threaded onto gold vermeil headpins and hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold, and the wires are stamped '925'.
These drop earrings are a very pretty colour with lots of glint.
These earrings measure approximately 1.3 inches (3cm), excluding the wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
