These tankards were originally made for my brother law. When he said he wanted something Lord of the rings inspired I knew what I wanted to do. I have made hand carved sprigs before. They can be really effective and there is great satisfaction in seeing them come out, all entirely handmade.

Full description
A broad tankard to sup your ale from. Slightly different body shape to the other one. The pub sign from the hostelry in Bree.
There are three colours. All of them are lined inside with white glaze. The yellow/green glaze is a semi matt the other 2 are glossy.
The tankards are hand thrown and have the hand carved pub sign sprig added while they are leather hard. The handles are pulled off the mug at the same stage. Once bisque fired the sign is hand coloured and and the body glazed ready for the final firing.
