I am a keen and enthusiastic potter with an eco mindset.
I aim to make pottery and ceramics that have a minimal impact on the environment, mitigating as much of the production of the pottery as I can. As well as being passionate about the environment and the natural world, I love being able to make and share my love of ceramics. I offer lessons on a weekly basis and with more than 20 years experience as a primary school teacher I am well placed to teach adults and children alike.
I grow a lot of our own food on our, carbon sequestering, organic no dig allotment. We have a renewables only energy supplier. Anything I am able to I offset carbon wise with our energy supplier, bulb. I use only UK based suppliers, and where I can source things( like the sawdust for raku) locally I do. I recycle and reuse as much of everything as I can, both in the home and in the studio. I also try and use the car as little as possible, even taking my bike and trailer to do our shopping at the local shops.
I have a pet fish and a cat- who isn't so good for the local wildlife! She will not be replaced.
I work out of a studio in my back garden, which is on the way to our allotment at the end of our garden. We are blessed with two very lively boys who do pop in to the studio from time to time.
