This handmade Rectangular Pendulum Wall Clock is designed to be enjoyed, like a painting, whether you are telling the time or not (!) and will be an attractive feature of your wall decor without taking up much wall space. The clock makes an ideal gift to a loved one or to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, housewarming, retirement, anniversaries or a wedding.

The Clock is made from solid ‘ripple’ sycamore timber with inlaid ebony and sycamore diamond hour markers forming the Dial. Swinging gently below the Case is a handmade rectangular Pendulum Bob in ripple sycamore with an inlaid central ebony and diamond that gives a soothing presence in your room whilst the clock movement is silent.

Ripple or ‘fiddleback’ (seen on the back of violins) sycamore is harder to find than ‘crown cut’ or straight grained sycamore and has a beautiful ’tiger’s eye’ effect with the play of light on the timber. To highlight the iridescent of the ripple sycamore, it was finished directly with the cut of a super sharp and hardened plane blade without using sandpaper which can cloud the grain.

Sizes:-
- Main Case is 200mm x 100mm x 20mm (7.8” x 3.95” x 0.8”).
- Wooden Pendulum Bob is 100mm x 26mm x 7mm (4” x 1” x 5/16”).
- The overall height of the clock including the Pendulum is 300mm (just under one foot)

This clock is from my latest (2022) Collection of rectangular wooden wall clocks that I have been exploring since the 1980s. The display of time is an integral part of the design (as opposed to ‘applying’ a bought in dial or numerals) and the use of a light coloured sycamore timber with contrasting ebony ensures clarity and legibility of the time. With the use of beautiful timbers, my clocks are designed to be enjoyed, like a painting, whether you are telling the time or not (!).
