It has been prized by human civilisations for over 6000 years.
Cleopatra famously used ground Lapis for her eye make-up and Renaissance artists made a costly pigment from it called 'ultramarine'- think of the blue headband worn by Vermeer's 'girl with a pearl earring'.

Striking stretch bracelet featuring a 4x14mm Lapis Lazuli tube flanked on either side by a 5mm sparkly Swarovski 'denim' crystal between two golden Hematite beads.
Round 6mm Lapis Lazuli beads, creamy-white freshwater pearls and gold Hematite complete the circle.
The Lapis Lazuli beads are a beautiful midnight blue with flecks of golden pyrite that add a subtle glint, emphasised by the gold Hematite.
The freshwater baroque pearls have a lovely, creamy-white iridescence.
The Swarovski crystals add a hint of sparkle.
This bracelet measures approximately 7 inches (18cm).
Your bracelet will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within the UK.
