Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.

I derive so much inspiration from nature and the world around me in general, and it would be impossible not to be inspired by a visit to Anne Hathaway’s Stratford Upon Avon home!
I relished the challenge of translating some of the key aspects of these beautiful surroundings into my finished piece, loving the combination of print and stitch and the touches of paint.
As a handmade, time consuming labour of love, a beautiful quality print means that my images can be reproduced in close detail to be enjoyed by many, at an affordable price.

Full description
This print is a beautiful quality reproduction of my hand printed and stitched original, depicting the childhood home of Anne Hathaway, the wife of William Shakespeare.
The original piece was created as part of an exciting art project for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, but which thanks to covid, and like so much else, was never able to take place.
My piece encompasses some of the most striking aspects of Anne Hathaway’s cottage and gardens; the ancient timbers, the beautiful glass, the striking willow Moon Seat and of course, the traditional cottage garden plants, and is the result of many, many hours of paint, print and stitch.
The starting point of my piece consisted of watercolour washes onto a base of natural, unbleached calico, onto which I stitched the house, then printed and stitched the layers of detail. The tactile quality of the original is translated beautifully in this reproduction, thanks to the gorgeous textured William Turner fine art paper.
The paper measures 45cm x 33cm, with the printed area measuring 42cm x 30cm, approx. A3 size.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PRICE IS FOR THE PRINT ONLY. THE WOODEN HANGER IN THE PHOTOGRAPH IS FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
Your print will be posted to you rolled within a cardboard tube. On arrival, remove the print from the tube and allow it time to unfurl. (Do not be tempted to roll the print in the opposite way as this will almost certainly result in creasing and possibly damaging the print).
