Watson the cat! The first print I ever make back in 2002 was of a cat, so it is very satisfying to return to this subject matter, with one who is now a member of our family!

A3 (29.7cm x 42 cm) 3-colour linocut / screen-print entitled 'Watson No.2'.
Watson is our cat. We got him from the RSPCA in September 2021, and he is very much now a member of our family. He is a little crazy at times, running round the house or garden at breakneck speed for no obvious reason, and then curling himself up in a ball on the nearest sofa or bed.
This is the second print I have made of him. This time I wanted to capture him awake, hiding amongst the plants in the garden, in a moment of calm before chasing another fly.
Watson actually inadvertently contributed to this print. He likes to keep me company in my studio, and got a bit too involved during the lino-cutting, biting a small piece off the edge of the lino, thinking it was some kind of game (see last pic, grey layer)!
Green, cream and dark grey System 3 inks on off-white recycled Cyclux 300gsm acid-free paper. From an edition of 55, signed, titled and numbered. I created the image initially as a linocut print, and then transferred the image to a silk-screen to hand-print the edition.
The print image measures H29.2.5xW22.2cm.
The paper measures H42xW29.7cm.
Printed by myself in Sheffield, UK. Each one is slightly different, as is the nature with screen-prints, and the paper may have the odd tiny mark or fleck as it is recycled.
All prints will be posted securely in a card tube and sent by first-class post (UK) or Airmail (rest of the world).
