Peridot is the traditional birthstone for August and Leo, and Leo's colours are light green and gold.
Peridot is the transparent form of the mineral Olivine, and was mined by the ancient Egyptians, who called it 'the gem of the sun'.
These AAA grade micro-faceted beads have a vibrant yellow-green hue.
Prehnite is a modern birthstone for August.
It was discovered in Cape Province, South Africa in 1788, and was originally called Cape Emerald.
The natives of Cape Province believed it acted as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds, strengthening the divinatory powers of the wearer.
It is still used as a 'dream stone', to increase the power and lucidity of the dream state.

Full description
A semi-translucent, 8-10mm, milky mint green Prehnite nugget with black epidote inclusions is topped with a 4mm black Onyx bead, a 7mm, nickel and lead free Tibetan star and a row of four vibrant green, 3.5mm, multi-faceted AAA grade Peridot beads.
The Peridot beads are beautifully cut and have a lovely sparkle.
The beads are hung from gold vermeil ear-wires.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with gold.
These drop earrings measure approximately 1.5 inches (4cm).
Presented in a small organza gift bag.
