The inspiration for this clock originated with an exploration of how the time could be displayed on beautiful timbers resulting in the (Liquorice Allsort) inlaid square hour markers made from striped sycamore and ebony.
The size of the Dial is determined by the length of the Minute Hand and the sweep of the Seconds Dial provides a soothing presence in your room.

Full description
This Square Handmade Wooden Wall Clock is veneered on the front face of the Dial with a beautiful burr field maple and on the rear face with oak. The hour markers are inlaid squares made from striped sycamore and ebony that contrast with the burr field maple for visibility and align with the white minute, hour and seconds ‘batten’ clock hands. The complete Dial is finished in a contrasting sycamore trim.
The size of the Dial is determined by the length of the Minute Hand and the sweep of the Seconds Dial provides a soothing presence in your room.
The Field Maple is the UK’s only native maple and produces the hardest, highest-density timber of all European maples. It is a warm, creamy-brown colour with a silky shine. The ebony used for the hour markers comes from 1980s stock which I still have in my workshop prior to any ebony export bans
The Clock is designed to be enjoyed, like a painting, as part of your wall decor whether you need to know the time or not (!) and is also ideal as a Special Occasion Gift for a loved one.

A Standard quartz movement with a year ’s battery life is used. Battery included.
