Whilst many of my clock designs explore how the dial and time display can be integrated to the woodwork (rather than applied with printed dials), the source of this rectangular pendulum clock came from asking myself the question: do pendulum bobs have to be round and made from brass? The result of asking myself this question was a host of ideas in my sketchbooks and a series of clock designs with rectangular pendulum bobs made from wood.
In this example, the pendulum bob can be subtly seen through a pierced geometric design.

This elegant Wooden Pendulum Wall Clock in Ripple Sycamore with red and black inlaid brass hour marks and delicate filigree hands is designed to be enjoyed, like a painting, as part of your wall decor or to be given as a Special Occasion Gift to a loved one.
The rectangle case is hand pierced with a geometric pattern through which an inlaid ripple sycamore and ebony rectangular pendulum ‘bob’ can be seen. The quiet ticking of the clock and the gentle movement of the ‘bob’ give a soothing presence in your room.
Ripple or ‘fiddleback’ (seen on the back of violins) sycamore - which is harder to find than straight grained or ‘crown cut’ sycamore - has a beautiful ’tiger’s eye’ effect with the play of light on the timber.
The overall size is 443mm x 100mm x 34mm (17 3/8” x 4” x 1 5/16”) so the clock can be easily located without taking up much wall space whilst still providing an attractive feature in your home.
