I particularly enjoy working with cherry wood because of the beautiful, rich colours you can find when working with it. I carved this piece to reveal the concentric circles in the wood grain and made a feature of them in the bowl of the spoon.

Full description
A small hand carved wooden spoon with an attractive wood grain. The spoon measures approximately 15.5cm in length and the width of the bowl measures 4cm.
This cherry wood spoon has a beautiful deep, rich colour. The handle has been dipped in ebonising fluid, made from white wine vinegar and wire wool, which darkens the tannins in the wood and compliments the natural colouring of the cherry wood. The spoon would be ideal for a wide variety of tasks, including scooping coffee, serving condiments and conserves or to use as an eating spoon.
The spoon has been treated with a coating of linseed oil to cure the wood, then burnished with a smooth pebble to create an attractive finish.
Once purchased, the item will be beautifully wrapped and sent to you in eco-friendly, plastic-free packaging, which is fully recyclable. You will receive information about how to care for your wooden utensil. A free gift note, which you can write your own message on, can also be added, making this an ideal gift to send to someone special.
