I love to find a piece of wood that is the right curved shape to allow me to carve an item with the bark left on as a detail, especially when you get such wonderful texture. I followed the natural shape of the wood when carving this and allowed the natural form to dictate the shaping of the piece. I think it would look great in a country kitchen.

Full description

An eye-catching, hand carved cooking spoon/ladle. The oak was cut in winter, which enables the bark to stay on the wood and creates a beautiful feature on this piece. The length of the item is approximately 24.5cm.

The handle has been designed to sit comfortably in the hand. The back of the handle is smooth, while the front features roughly textured bark, which is a really interesting detail and also extremely tactile. This piece of oak has a beautiful wood grain and the colours of the layers of bark are stunning.

The piece has been treated with a coating of linseed oil to cure the wood, then burnished with a smooth pebble to create an attractive finish.

Once purchased, the item will be beautifully wrapped and sent to you in eco-friendly, plastic-free packaging, which is fully recyclable. You will also receive information about how to care for your wooden utensil.
