When I was having my children 30 years ago, I had several family members who knitted baby clothes for me and I also made some myself, but these days, it seems to be getting less and less common. I have been knitting since my grandmother taught me, on her knee, when I was five years old and have done so, off and on, ever since and feel lost if I don't have an ongoing knitting project to pick up when I am watching TV or sitting by the log burner, or even on the train. I love to knit blankets, which take many hours, but are very rewarding and I memorize the pattern after a few rows, so they are easy to just pick up and carry on. I hope this little blanket might be used and passed down through a family and hold babies and happy memories for many years to come.

Full description
This baby blanket was a joy to knit, in between sewing projects! It is made with a yarn which is 75% virgin wool (meaning moisture is naturally moved to the surface and it is also insulating, so warm in the winter and cool in the summer) and 25% polyamide. It is a neutral grey, with a black fleck and a zigzag texture knitting design, so perfect for a gift before the baby is born and you don't know if is it a boy or a girl.
Size is 38” by 31” (97cm by 79cm)so suitable for a Moses basket or pram.
The blanket is machine washable at 40 degrees and can be ironed on a low setting.
