My husband wanted me to knit him some warm socks, as he could not find any in the shops that fitted him perfectly, so I made a few attempts from vintage knitting patterns, until I came up with a design that suited. Since then, I have tried many different yarns and two sizes, so I can wear some as well and they have been tried and tested by many friends and family members.

Full description
Hand knitted, non-itchy men's socks - 75% wool, 25% nylon. This yarn is from the West Yorkshire Spinners and is reared, sheared and spun in Britain. It contains 35% Bluefaced Leicester wool and is space dyed to create the variegated effect - no two socks will be exactly the same. Machine washable at 30 degrees, or a handwash cycle, do not tumble dry. Length from heel turn to top is approximately 10", from heel to toe is also 10". Fits size 7-9 foot. To extend life of socks, use a washing liquid specially made for woollen items.
