This pretty polished Labradorite paperweight, palm stone, or decorative display item was originally a rough stone, it has been polished to a high gloss, over various cycles & many hours, to create this very tactile decorative item.
Beautiful and natural, polished opalescent blue grey Labradorite, with darker areas and internal flashes of light, beautiful from every angle.
It’s true beauty shows when moving it around to catch the light, appearing blue grey then suddenly jumping to life with internal brilliance, blue, green and yellow, which I have ‘tried’ to capture in the photos.
Roughly oval in shape measuring approx 61mms by 50mms at its widest points & approx 28mms in depth at is widest points.
As this is a natural stone, there are occlusions and natural fissures within the Labradorite, some areas less polished than others, but this all adds to the natural beauty of the piece.
It has some weight to it, so might make a fantastic paperwieght or decorative desk ornament. Especially for those who love gemstones and organic items. Wonderfully cool to the touch. Would make a fantastic photography prop.
In its natural unpolished state, this stone was a dull and grey looking item, but when made wet, showed the promise of inner beauty. With various polishing cycles, it has come up to a high gloss finish, with fisures, inner facets and patches that show the unpolished state, but overall the item glows with the inner light that Labradorite is know and loved for.
