Full description

Not all makes come out perfectly but they can still be beautiful. This bright sunflower bowl is one example. The petals have been hand cut and arranged around a black disc of glass. I then crushed more black glass and piled that into the centre to create the sunflower effect. I placed it into my specialist glass kiln and slowly fired it to 740 degrees Celsius to tac fuse. This allowed the glass to fuse into one piece without loosing the definition of the individual pieces.

Next, I placed the disc over a bowl mould and fired it in the kiln again to 670 degrees Celsius. During this slow process, the black base disc hidden underneath, split slightly, as shown in the picture. When viewed from the top as a bowl, this blemish is barely noticeable. However, as it is imperfect,I am offering it at a reduced price in my seconds section.

A video of it being made can be found on my Instagram and TikTok pages.

It measures approximately 14cm across and 4.5cm high.

This bargain price also includes postage within the UK.
