Full description
This unique wire wrapped pendant was ade last year using stirling silver. At the time when I picked up this lapis lazuli I know that I wanted to create a more elaborate weave.
The central stone gave the colour, and yet the silver was the lement that would enhance the pendant.
Five strands of wire that create the external motif became four as I hung the stone in the centre and the four wires then became three, then two, then one. By the time I finished I created this beatiful three pronged bale with a small rose at the front. The pendant, still felt naked until the single coil was added at the very front of the pendant.
This piece is indeed a very unique item, the 22 inch chain that will accompany it, will be strung through the furthest two prongs and will balance out the day time of evening look of any wearer.
The silver wire is up to 7.6g in wight, the stone adds to the wight of the overal pendant.
Lapis lazuli as a stone, has been used from ancient times in jewellery, decorative items and even for painting. Buying this piece will be transporting you to ancient Egypt and Rome, where artists would use it for it's semi precious nature and for it's believed metaphysical properties.
