Welcome to Janiemade and my little corner of Folksy where you can buy my crocheted creations. If you're looking for skilfully handmade gifts and home decor I hope you'll find something you love. I enjoy crocheting with natural fibres, mainly cotton, and many of my home decor items use recycled braided cotton cord or recycled cotton T shirt yarn. All items are ready to post and I only charge postage on your first item. Your order will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd class post.

I've become a bit obsessed with crocheting with chunky macrame cord and love making shells and baskets with it. It's hard work crocheting with thick braided cord but the results are worth it. I love how you can clearly see every stitch that went into making it and it's great to make something in 3D that's not a toy!

Full description
A beautifully tactile small crocheted ammonite in charcoal grey, made with a premium recycled 100% cotton braided cord. The item is very sturdy and keeps its shape and the cord gives great definition to the crochet stitches used to create it.
It would look equally good on display by itself as a feature in a room, or as a container for a small houseplant, or as useful storage in the bathroom or nursery. The pattern describes it as an ammonite but it is also the shape of a nautilus shell so would fit in well with a seaside theme.
Measurements: Approximately 14cm tall at its highest point, 22cm in length, and 14cm across at its widest point. I also make a large version of this basket, see separate listings.
Care instructions: I recommend a gentle surface clean with a damp cloth to remove dust but item may be carefully washed by hand at 30C, reshape whilst damp. Do not bleach; Do not iron; Do not tumble dry.
I am happy to make this item in other colours on request. This cotton cord is available in a wide range of colours including Teal, Avocado, Mustard, Sand and Forest Green. See colour chart in photos for options.
